Does anyone else think Tyler the Creator and Odd Future suck?
Personally, I have to force myself to get through a whole vocal without changing information technology. Their sound is terrible, the production is apprentice, and the lyrics may be unique and shocking but that doesn't make them good, it just means no one was dumb plenty to exercise that shit earlier.

But practise you lot feel like they're setting back hiphop? I feel like the genre is clawing it'southward way out of the bitches and hoes, money and cash mentality and onto a more socially witting aeroplane. Tribe was a skilful mile betoken for that and more recently Child Cudi, K-OS and some Lupe. Tyler and OF just rap trash.

I care, they are non hip hop. They care for shows like hardcore rock shows and rap nearly nothing on particular.

This sums upwards my feelings towards them too. They have some skilful cloth, just lot's of mediocre stuff every bit well. I don't know why they attract so much attention and have such a dedicated fan base. I recall part of the fun is getting to yell SWAG and Gratuitous EARL all over the place.
It's more than about OFWGKTA civilization than their music.

Nigh of them are boilerplate rappers at best. Only listen to Earl Sweatshirt and tell me you've heard a teenager rap equally good as that. He's ridiculously talented imo and easily the best member of OF. Mike G is probably next best, his flow is sick and he has some pretty insightful lyrics. Tyler and Hodgy are but really charismatic which is why they're so popular. People often mistake Tyler's production as bad, when that'south actually the sound he'south going for. He prefers making grimey, lo-fi beats as they complement the usually dark and twisted lyrics.

I don't know man. I understand anybody is entitled to their own opinion, just saying that he'southward good for a teenager doesn't hateful that he's going to exist great. Odd Time to come is mostly simply over-hyped, tendency-bucking shenanigans. That being said, I think Frank Ocean has then much potential it's insane. He's the simply ane I can listen to and bask.

Free Earl!! He's definitely my favorite in the group. He's the most consistent and I find myself fiending for more. EARL was one of the first songs I heard from then and information technology's what got me listening. That child is only what 17? I hope he's around for a long time

I dunno, I'd accept a hard fourth dimension maxim Yonkers, Earl, Bastard, Seven, French or Orange Juice sucked. Aye they don't really take their shit tight nonetheless but it's a buncha fuckin kids. I'd rather accept this shit in the mainstream than fuckin Gucci Mane or Wiz Khalifa.

Aye, I agree. I tried listening to Tyler's album and some of it is unlistenable but when he gets it to work, like on Yonkers, it'southward something totally fresh that I heaven't heard earlier. Y'all tin't say that near 99% of hip-hop in the mainstream at the moment.

See, this is what I detest almost them: everyone e'er says they're young and give them a chance to become amend, but comparing them to whiz and saying that'southward footing for them being awesome simply makes no sense to me. Why not compare Odd Time to come to Talib Kweli, or Common, or Swamburger, or Aloe Blacc.
